The La Bastille cableway : Hop on on one of the eggs which cross the Isère river and bring you to the mountain, for a beautiful view on Grenoble and the Vercors and Belledonne mountains. Your kids will adore « l’accro-bastille »; The Bastille via ferrata is rather difficult but offers an original view on the city. Return trip possible by cableway, but it’s more fun to go downhill by foot and discover the musée Dauphinois, cross the Isere by the St Laurent bridge and visit the old town center.
The St Hilaire du Touvet funicular : In Lumbin you can take one of the oldest funiculars of Europe, which bring you to St Hilaire du Touvet, where you can admire the Alps summits (Vercors, Mont Blanc…) and why not take a paragliding lesson… Children can visit the « Laboratoire d’Icare », and adventurous parents can try the Via Ferrata de la cascade de l’Oule. The perfect day trip for young and old!
Le Cirque de St Même, THE site that will please everyone : Farniente, picnic by the river and invigorating footbath… But above all a relatively easy ascent to the waterfalls !
Circuit rando-croquis : if you wish to go back home with some nice drawings, take a walk at the Montbel castle ruins. The poetic atmosphere will inspire you….
Giant’s kettles and trout fishing : A small walkingpath offers you beautiful views on the waterfalls and giant’s kettles of the Cozon river and brings you from St Pierre d’Entremont to « Pont du Lac » where you can relax, or try to catch some trouts. Don’t hesitate to taste the home made pies!
The Tourne papermill : In the middle of the wineyards, near Chambéry, you can visit the Tourne papermill where one make cotton paper on traditional way. Take a break at the St André lake, at the foot of the giant cliffs of the Mont Granier.
The Plantimay farm : Cheese farm where one make goat and cow cheese. (visits possible on monday, wednesday, friday from 5 till 6.30 pm. In St Joseph de Rivière)
Rivièr’Alp, natural swimming pool (Recreation park in Les Echelles) : The water (25°C) of this swimming pool is filtered by plants. Discover the hydromachines along the walking path to the Guiers Vif river !
